How do you keep up with your monthly finances, and still stay afloat? I can keep up with my monthly bills, and daily living just fine. Then when the doctor bills come along, I just can't handle it all. So then I'm late on paying bills. I get food stamps and go to food pantries, but that's not enough. Sometimes I get help through HOPWA (housing opportunity people with AIDS), but that's only for 3 months. What kind of help do you get to keep afloat every month, that I could possibly look into.

@A myHIVteam Member Your income is the first place to start. are you working full time? Are you receiving long term disability, SSI or SSD? There are programs that can if you are behind with your utilities as well as your rent. Check with your local Salvation Army. You can use them at least once a year. Some utility companies have programs you can apply. Look at their website & see if you fit the qualifications. Your income & assests will play a big part. Also check your local church they may have programs as well to help.

Oh wow, it breaks my heart about the struggle some of you are. Well I'm on the Ryan White program and as of now I receive medical assistant for free due to my income and my monthly meds cost me just $5 dllrs but even if my income changes it will cost me $15 dllrs a doctor visit wich is pretty affordable. I have my own private insurance from work wich is dental, vision and medical but I use those external from my Ryan White program cause if I use my medical I will have to go through Memorial Herman Hospital (one of the most expensive hospitals in Houston) and I will pay a higher deductible so I'm fine. When it comes to bills, house and car payment I do that on my own, my monthly expenses come to about $1400. Dllrs a month and I been in the waiting list for housing aid but there's a lot of people in front of me so I'm just working hard to keep me a float and also support my mom money wise, can't complain, I'm doing fine and I guess living in a big city has it's perks. Blessings to everyone on here and I hope that everything falls together for good and that you receive the help that you need. Many hugs and kisses!!

@A myHIVteam Member I'm looking into some other funds for you to check out. Some of these funds are from a foundation others are from main steam businesses. What I need to know from you is what state are you living in. Some grants you won't able to qualify for due the fact you don't in the same area as the grant.
