Have You Found Any Kind Of Discrimination Based On Your HIV Status, Once You Shared Your Status?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Did your employer want you to do a different job? Did family or friends exclude you from outings (picnics, parties, holiday get-togethers, people not wanting you to do certain things or go to certain places etc.)

Gays then to be the biggest on the discrimination front because they always have their ideal person in mind and if some one does not meet their higher than normal standard well that's usually when the shaming begins when methinks it is them that should be ashamed of themselves for setting unrealistic standards for others !

I've not bothered with my family or some friends ever since I found out they just said I was dirty and now I do my own thing but they've never asked me to do anything I've got a new circle of friends now that want to do a lot of things

Nobody at my previous job knew, I wouldn't dare tell anyone since my boss used to tell me that her daughter contracted TB from where she worked and she would have a "special" set of dishes for her to use when she came over and wouldn't touch anything that she did. And in the past I remember people saying as soon as someone would get sick from a cold or flu, if they were gay they would immediately jump to conclusion and say they had AIDS. People are so uneducated.
