Can You Deliberately Go Out And Infect Someone With HIV?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

There have been incidences that we all know of someone somewhere who deliberately infected someone.
What's your feeling on the topic?

It is quite possible. But truthfully what can you do about it if you don't have the proof? Even if you did, what's the point? One of the first questions my friends asked me was "do you know who you got it from?" Even if I did, why bother? I'd rather focus my energies on staying healthy. Considering I tested POZ in 1991, I'm pretty sure that I've been doing the right thing.

@A myHIVteam Member . Not to be crude , but the little head (or hole) always does the thinking for the big head , in the heat of the moment . ( I will apologize in advance to those might be offended by my response. I have eloquence of a baby gorilla . 😁)

While HIV is our common thread here, I would feel the same about any infectious desease. Anyone who would intentionally give someone hepatitis, herpes, COVID, or even pink eye, is a shit of a person.

I knew about condoms, and their use in protecting against HIV infection @A myHIVteam Member. Each time I tested HIV negative, I would say to myself that I would do better to use condoms every time.

What worked for me was testing HIV+. After that, there was no question regarding condom use. Too bad I couldn't learn that prior to HIV infection.

Just about everyone I told this grim tale ultimately tested HIV+ themselves. We are not as clever as we think.

@A myHIVteam Member. Part of that problem is a total failure by adults in USA to be able to speak and teach about sex education without extreme discomfort. Then, as adults, we do no better at communicating our own wants and desires to the people we are with in bed. Crazy. Add to that the loaded topics of HIV and prevention, and silence beats the buzz kill. I think that is why we fail to have these important conversations, rather than being so enveloped in the throes of passion that we men are just following where our peckers point.❤️🤠👍
