@A myHIVteam Member, he's a vegetarian too, he was asking about going vegan. Vegetarian and vegan are 2 different things. Vegetarian = no meat. Vegan = no meat AND no dairy products. I always thought they were the same until I started working in a vegetarian food processing factory that makes vegetarian and vegan foods.

One thing about going vegan, not only are you giving up meat as vegetarians do, but you also have to give up dairy products. No milk, no eggs, no cheese, no ice cream. It is harder to be vegan than vegetarian because so many things are made with milk or eggs. If you decide to go vegan, you'll need to start reading label ingredients on everything. It is easy to say, "I'm not drinking milk, cooking eggs, or eating cheese or ice cream." What about those Pillsbury biscuits though? Made with eggs and milk, so something you can't have. Vegetarian pizza? The crust is made with eggs, maybe milk too. Pasta, made with eggs so out of the question.
So if you want to go vegan, my advice is to slowly remove things a little at a time. Maybe drink soymilk or almond milk but eat those biscuits until you decide to cut them out. There is just so much food made with dairy, it would be a shock to cut everything at once, or you'd be in the store looking at labels all day.

vegan is too restrictive. No honey in my tea? No leather for...well lets not say what for. No eggs for quiche? no hershey chacolate!?!? Nay I say to the on becoming vegan. Nay I say to denying yourself honey for your tea, butter on your toast, eggs for your quiche. Be a vegetarian, we have freshly maked buttery chocolate chip cookies.

Do you?
