I Stopped Taking My Meds Months Ago. Can I Start Taking Them Agian
A myHIVteam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

I've been on biKtarvy from 2017 until November 2020
I was diagnosed in 2014 didn't get on meds until 2017 and I swear I didn't start feeling bad until or like anything was different with me until I got on the pills. Now I'm always tired, weak, stomach aches, depressed all the time, went from working 40 hours to 15 and can hardly move on days off. So I got off my meds to see if I would feel better. It didn't work so I'm curious can I get back on them and they still work. I just wanted to feelโ€ฆ read more

Lean on me brother @A myHIVteam Member
I can relate to where you are at this stage in your life. Your young daughter is your life. As her loving and caring father, you will do what it takes to keep her in your custody, seek and get treatment, and love her and yourself unconditionally. Do not allow HIV to define you or diminish what you can do for her and for yourself. You have a huge resource at your hands here on this team. And I believe in my team and what they are providing me with everyday. Acceptance and support. You've got the ball in your hands and it is now your play.
Build your team, ask questions, answer questions, etc. Because you may never know who you might help if not help yourself. Aloha and Good Evening my Brother.

Can I add you all to my team thing. It's nice to have other outlooks and to hear other perspectives. I'm trying to but I don't see a light at the end of my tunnel.

You never crossed the line or caused offense to anyone here. You were courageous in spilling your guts and I tapped you back with my experiences and my attempt to shake you up a bit Brother! This is who we are on this team. I never mean to hurt or diminish anyone but I will tell it like I see it, without ill intent.
Are you working full time? Does your workplace offer you a benefit that is usually called "Employee Assistance Program" or "EAP" the reason I am asking this is because this program has many benefits that are at no cost to the employee and is set up to refer you to therapists in your area where you can sit and talk in privacy. Your employer will never know because of privacy laws. This benefit will kick in regardless if you are having issues at work because of your depression, or no issues at all. All you have to do from your end is to call the phone number and go from there. This is a mainstream benefit provided by most employers just like they offer medical insurance, etc.
Because it doesn't appear like your area is set up based on your case workers response when you inquired. This is just another option to get the assistance that you may need. I care, we all care about everyone on this team. You reached out and did the right thing by doing so.
So, if you don't mind, I have included you on my team as my newest brother here.
Aloha from Maui Brother, we can do this together. I have children of my own and they are all grown up and have given me many grand children. They, are who keeps me going and also people like you! Take care.

Okay you are speaking for your self. Hiv isn't stopping anything here you need to educate your self and start thinking about working on you. Many beautiful people catch hiv and they all feel like you do at first. But then they see their are people just like me in my situation it gives you hope.

I'm sorry that you are feeling this way but I'm going to be very Frank because I consider us a support group and I rather be honest than in direct. Girl please wake up. You need to take your meds because they will save your life you have a virus in your blood that will eventually deteriorate your body and kill you. If you can't find the right drug change your doctor or change the meds but you must get on the medication where you can tolerate its side effects but please start taking them immediately like right now like yesterday and call and get the doctor's appointment. Amen ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’“Oh yes honey and welcome and you are in a safe place and you will get better there is a light at the end of all of this ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’‹
