When Did You Start Medicine?

I was recently diagnosed about 2 weeks ago. I got my levels tested and I believe I am at the undetectable level. I go into an HIV counselor in a few weeks. I would like to ask how quickly did others start taking medicine after being diagnosed? I would like to start medicine/treatment as soon as possible......

I started meds as soon as they let me, but I had an aids diagnosis.

Early Treatment

As we all know guidelines are to start ARV medication as soon as possible which gives you a close to normal life span. With that being said there are many long term survivors who were on toxic meds. such as protease inhibitors in the late 90s that were really not good. And many of these people had hiv for 5 to 10 years before there was protease inhibitors and they were on AZT which we can all agree was a failure.
