Anyone Else On Testosterone Replacement Therapy?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

For years I have been receiving testosterone injections, 1 cc every two weeks to help with keeping my weight up and muscle mass. I also suffer from a blood disease called secondary polycythemia, where I produce too many red blood cells making my blood thick raising my hematocrit and hemoglobin levels. In men with low serum testosterone levels, the use of testosterone replacement has been shown to increase BMD, decreasing rates of osteoporosis. HIV is a disease state that is connected to low BMD originating from a multitude of factors including antiretroviral therapy, HIV inflammation, and vitamin D deficiency. I myself have been injecting testosterone for about seven years along with the human growth hormone. Categorically diagnosed with wasting syndrome and curvature of the spine. A vitamin D supplement will help with inflammation. It took years of research and working with my team of doctors to come up with a daily weekly and yearly regiment to keep myself alive. This includes testosterone injection , human growth hormone, thyroid medication, prostate medication, an anti-inflammatory and a 12 pill regiment for my ART..also please include a physical regiment of exercise on the day and week of the injection. Good Luck. 🤗

I have low T; diagnosed long before HIV diagnosis. Am interested in it, however, once my viral numbers are more stable.

I am not currently on T therapy. I see my Doc this coming Tuesday and check the last time it was done. Mine is more for sexual drive which I have almost next to zero. But we deal with it.

Lost 10 pounds around my waist, only thing is they give my a bad rash ! Going to ask if I can take the Ando gel instead! Been on the patches for six months now,no blood work yet! Most hiv poz guys have low T from what I’ve read!
