My Dr Wants To Put Me On FOSOMAX
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I recently had a Dexascan and I have now officially become diagnosed with Osteoporosis. Specifically in my spine L1 & L2
My Dr has prescribed Fosomax, but has described the side effects as minimal. Definitely not what I read online
Can anyone tell me their own experiences with this medication or alternative therapy or treatment?
Thank you!

Have you discussed the one year shot to prevent osteoporosis it's called Reclast I do a shot once a year. And since doing calcium D3 tablet 2x a day my levels have risen top and next year I wont need that shot until my body depletes it again. I wish you the best of luck

Big difference lol I thought I read it wrong. My grandmother took it, idk if made much difference but worth a shot. I have noticed my bbn one density is ok but on the low side and I'm having lots of joint issues.

as always, talk to your doctor before starting alternative therapies.

I took Flomax, the side effects are not minimal. I stopped taking it. I also had a drop in testosterone after three months of taking it. Consider your options
