Last night, February 4, Trump promised the nation that “we will eradicate the AIDS epidemic in America by the end of the decade.” Trump also promised this: “I have also made an ironclad pledge to American families: We will always protect patients with preexisting conditions—that is a guarantee. As we are still alive because of Dr. Fauci with his incredible work with AIDS & HIV. Developing daily meds with the big Pharmaceuticals that have helped us stay alive taking a pill a day, (which is individual and different for each of us), I just want to give a shout out to thank him, and glad that he is on the "team" to figure it all out. A brilliant Doctor who's always ahead of the game.
So, my family - do you have confidence in Dr. Fauci or support our President with his philosophy that… read more
@A myHIVteam Member then I wish you peace and as much as possible, comfort brother.
Now that the pharmaceutical companies have found a way to keep us alive for 30+ years with a one a day pill, what’s the incentive for them to come up with another pill. Wouldn’t it makes sense for all scientists, pharmaceutical companies etc to now spend all their effort to find a cure. In 15 years from now biktarvy, dovato will lose there patents and these pills will me made by many different companies in generic form which will drop the price for these drugs dramatically?no longer will they be… read more
@A myHIVteam Member. My NP, who has a PhD in immunology, said that although it was thought that acyclovir was effective against HIV, that has been shown to be untrue. He said that he took many of his… read more

AIDS Advocacy groups are protesting the companies producing the vaccine for not including persons with HIV into trials. Currently 1.2 million people in America are living with HIV/AIDS. I read one company, however, included 120 persons with HIV in a trial including 30,000 I believe. Out of those 120, one was placebo, the others got the vaccine and had no problems. But the jury is still out… read more
I can see and understand why some would want to exclude those whose immune systems were already comprosised by HIV and things like cancer, but in the end I always feel that they should include people… read more

Ricky is the lookout for a South Bronx Crackhouse. He looks up and down the street, past decaying buildings, looking for customers and the police. Ricky’s 25 and looks 45. He’s an HIV+ crack addict. A black woman, who looks like a homeless, bag lady approaches Ricky. “They open,” she mutters. “Yeah. They slammin’ too!” Rick says. The skinny black woman hurries into the building. ”Bitch can suck a dick!” Rick says to me. “I hit that last week!” A big, black limousine with tinted windows pulls… read more
Interesting story, yet is true in the sense that I lived on 156th 3rd Ave in the Bronx born and raised, and back then I watched lots of crack head in the park around the corner from where I lived, I… read more
I saw a lot of things last nigh and I can't believe this is a debate. What did you take away from the conversation last night?
Most of the resources for HIV deals with the gay community or is targeted towards the gay community. The HIV+ straight community feels left out in so many ways when dealing with this disease. How can the gay community bring more openness, and more resources to the positive straight community? How can the gay community help the straight community deal with this disease as one and not separate? How can we get HIV organizations to bring awareness to the positive straight community? Even though we… read more

Having been newly infected later in life I’m in my fifties I ponder this question. Lets say that progress has stopped on better hiv treatments or cures and this is all we got till we die.is it better to be older an newly infected and have to take meds for only lets say 25 years and die from it or natural causes or to have been newly infected at an early age let’s say in your twenties and have to take hiv meds for 60 years.i bring this up for this reason . because even with the advances in… read more

It’s hard but as long as you take your meds everything will be ok. You can’t live in fear all the time. That will put a wedge between you and your partner. To be safe have them to use prep. Set… read more
