Im newly diagnosed with HIV and the burden of medical costs has set in. Im currently insured under my dad’s company insurance and I also have medicaid. My dad doesnt know im hiv+ yet and I’m not working at the moment because I’m a fulltime college student. From personal experience, are their any programs that I should know of that would help pay for my appointments and medication?
I know when i was first diagnosed my eis case worker had me sign up for a program called ADAP you may also want to ask about that. I dont k ow if it is juat in my state or not, but the Ryan White Foundation is nationwide.

Ask your case manager about Ryan White programs for your area.
First you can call the insurance company you have and ask them if they can cover anything else before finding more help that might not let you use there service because you have an insurance company already. Talk to your case manager as well because usually they will have some tips and ideas to use in your city.
The Ryan White Program covers medical issues...depends on which state you are in...some have states have individual programs set up. Where are you located?
