I think it's very promising, but I have concerns that it won't come through for the simple fact that big pharma makes a killing off of the meds that we need in order to live. If they were to cure HIV… read more

What Are Your Feelings With U=U.... And The Issue With Wearing Or Not Wearing A Mask After Receiving The COVID-19 Vaccine?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Back in 1990,..I remember within our own LGBTQ community, we were being ostracized because a lot of us died of AIDS and were infected with HIV and the population feared us. Today that stigma continues after doctors and the CDC say that a person who is undetectable under anti virals can have unprotected sex with another HIV undetectable person and can even have unprotected sex with an HIV negative person and not infect that person.. (it has been proven medically through science).... but today… read more

Once Approved By The FDA And Qualified In Clinical Trials, Would You Have Your Physician Give You The Covid-19 Vaccine?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

With different pharmaceutical companies, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna all creating a covid-19 vaccine in the coming months, which one would you decide to take or would you at all? 🤔

A myHIVteam Member

@A myHIVteam Member You are very correct. As long as these vaccines give a great results then each year we will have to get another vaccine just like we do yearly for the flu shot. The Covid… read more

Covid-19 Vaccine + HIV
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had the opportunity to speak to their doctor, specialist, etc about taking the Covid-19 vaccine or not taking it? Im usually a little reluctant to take the first round of anything new as it is certainly a trial by fire in some cases. However, I'm not completley against taking the vaccine.

I realize it will probably be a few more months before the opportunity comes to take the vaccine but I will talk to my doctor about it and the potential risks.

A myHIVteam Member

I will take it as soon as it is available to me but I haven't talked to my ID doctor.

I’ve Had Anal Warts For Year, Can They Become Cancerous? I’m Terrified.

anal warts ***COULD*** lead to anal cancer. Talk to your HIV doctor about the warts, and they will get you scheduled with a doctor who will remove them. Depending how bad they are, they can freeze… read more

Vaccination Reactions
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Thinking about this because @A myHIVteam Member just talked about a sore arm from vaccination, and partner & I are headed for vaccination today for flu & covid. How many people have a regular reaction to vaccination? I do every time (sore arm, feeling crappy). My partner, on the other hand, rarely has a reaction. I think that if I have a reaction, I needed the vaccination, otherwise the real thing would have been much worse. My partner says, "The reaction means your body was already primed… read more

When Will There Be A Vaccine For HIV/AIDS, When Co-vid Had Three In One Year?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

It is a miracle and blessing we have vaccines for Co-vid released just this year. My question as a long termer diagnosed with HIV in 1987, why has it taken, in my case, 34 years for such a vaccine be developed for HIV/AIDS? The Pharmaceutical companies have made billions since manufacturing meds for HIV/AIDS. Why would these companies want to put out a vaccine or cure over making billions of dollars? And why are there not more generics for HIV meds? It all kind of makes one wonder… read more
