My cd4 was 2 when i was diagnosed and dr said i had a compromised immune system. As my cd4 went up and being undetectable does that go away? Or will i forever have a compromised immune system?
I also went down to 2 never got sick and now have climbed to 100 been under 200 for many years but undetected.. healthy man of 57 don’t think they will ever go back up
Have you had to access therapy or take additional medication for this stress? Has your immune system shown sigs of repression from this stress?
I do as well🤗...👁️👄💨💨💨🎄🎄...
Just got routine labs: HIV undetectable. CD4 606. Cocci positive. New since Fall 2023. No symptoms that I remember.

I am nervous about getting, the vaccine. I don’t know what to do. I may ask my doctor, when I see him, on the 19th of May.
Don't be nervous I've gotten the flu shot and then I'll get the covid shot at the same time it helps you you know I've had the covid shot but 12 times now every time there's a new vaccine that comes… read more

Now that the pharmaceutical companies have found a way to keep us alive for 30+ years with a one a day pill, what’s the incentive for them to come up with another pill. Wouldn’t it makes sense for all scientists, pharmaceutical companies etc to now spend all their effort to find a cure. In 15 years from now biktarvy, dovato will lose there patents and these pills will me made by many different companies in generic form which will drop the price for these drugs dramatically?no longer will they be… read more

Wondering if we fall into the immune compromised category as described by the CDC if our CD 4 count is in the range of normal. It probably doesn't matter for me since I'm in my 60's and have kidney disease which both put me in the high risk category for the Coronavirus. Also I have heard through the HIV grapevine that being on AIDS meds might offer some protection.
I live in Seattle, the epicenter of the virus for the US so looking for as much information to, I guess, convince myself I'll be… read more

Should the term "AIDS" be retired? I think @A myHIVteam Member might have mentioned this, but this is the first time I've seen it on Medscape.
Is AIDS just advanced HIV infection, or would eliminating the term give the impression that it's no longer a problem?
@A myHIVteam Member. I think they tried out a few terms that never took off:
PARTIALLY Blown, INCOMPLETELY Blown, POORLY Blown, HALF Blown, UNBLOWN... 🧐🤔🙄😬😧🥱😴💤
Untreated, HIV typically turns into AIDS in about 8 to 10 years. When AIDS occurs, your immune system has been severely damaged. You'll be more likely to develop diseases that wouldn't usually cause illness in a person with a healthy immune system.
I would have been infected by my now ex boyfriend in 2003 - 2005 I was diagnosed with AIDS in 2010 pregnant and married to someone else. My CD4 was 136.
