Vision
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I'm having trouble with my vision. Everything goes blurry. I'm just wondering. I have never had to Ware glasses. Is it because of the HIV or because I'm fixing to turn 40 in June? I heard HIV can affect your vision.

At 40, you need to think about getting a pressure check on your eyes. If you have a family history of Glaucoma, then this is even more important (there is a strong genetic component to glaucoma).
Is a lot of your work involving computers/close work? If so, then it is a good idea to take a few minutes every hour or two to go outside, take off your glasses and take in natural light. . This helps to prevent too much eyestrain.

I have high ocular pressure that has to be monitored. At 40 my eyes were getting worse. At 53 my distance has improved, just need glasses for reading.
