I believe that because of developments in the HIV treatments have progressed immensely; that there is now a growing number of people living with HIV for over 25 years; we call ourselves "longtime survivors". It is disturbing to me to see the shift in behavior that is existent amongst the millennials (ages 18-35); granted we have come a long way since the 80's with making HIV manageable, but the virus still can cause other side effects. very good question @A myHIVteam Member. There is so much information out there, I wonder myself if it actually sinks into this new generation. We are in the 3rd generation now of this virus, and it seems everyone should know the dangers by now. Yet there is also so much misinformation, misconceptions, and just flat out lies about the virus just as prevalent.

I'm 30 years old, and I was diagnosed back in September. Right now, my focus isn't so much long term survival as it just survival period. I do have a book on living a healthy life sith HIV, and there is always Google and I have a great resource here in MyHIVteam. But right now, my biggest worry is getting to Undetectable and staying there. And not completely screwing up everything.

I have a very close family and trusted acquaintances outside the family circle. I ditched the negativity, and am a hermit. I am away from the possibility of that 1 germ getting to my immune system, and causing great damage. I am single 4 now. God willing, I will live 2 see a third lover. Tired of waiting. bin 20 yrs single.

I am 27. Was diagnosed 6 months ago. I have changed my eating habits, joined the gym, got a handle on my drinking and attempted to stop smoking. Now on day 3 of no smoking. 🤞
